Welcome to the website for San Francisco/Bay Area Circle Dancers. We invite you to join us in the circle at one of our regular weekly or monthly dance events, or join us for a special dance event. We dance in a circle to music from all over the world, and each dance is taught first, so no experience is necessary. Because we dance in a circle, no partners are needed. Go to our main information page for more information about who we are, the dances we do, and how it all works. If you want to be added to our mailing list, please drop us a note. Hope to see you in the circle!

WATCH THIS SPACE for late-breaking news from the world of dance and dancers. For instance, here's one now:

MAY POLE DANCE: On Thursday, May 1, we will be dancing around the May Pole in Berkeley. We're setting up our May Pole in Cedar Rose Park, 1700 Rose St., at Chestnut (seven blocks north of Finnish Brotherhood Hall), from 7 to 8 pm. We'll do some traditional May dances (Ce Mois de Mais, Jack-in-the-Green, etc.), and then we'll dance around the beribboned May Pole. No cost. Dress warmly.

PAJAMA DANCE PARTY AT HILLSIDE CHURCH: On the 4th Friday of May, which is May 23, we'll have our regular 4th Friday evening at Hillside (pot luck at 7, dancing 8 to 10) . . . and then we'll do other stuff (trance dances, story telling -- we hope Marianna will come with one of her ghost stories, making 'Smores in the fireplace -- and then we sleep over (foam pads and/or futons available). We'll dance up the sun -- hopefully with Gwen leading -- have breakfast (food provided), dance a bit more, and go home. A $20 donation to cover church rental and food will be appreciated.
