Solstice 2020

Here is some verse and music to help you mark the birth of the new light in this time of Epic gravid darkness

From Starhawk:

"This is the night of the solstice, the longest night of the year.
Now darkness triumphs; and yet, gives way and changes into light.
This is the stillness behind motion, when time itself stops;
the center is also the circumference of all.
We are awake in the night.
We turn the Wheel to bring the light.
We call the sun from the womb of night. “

and from our own blessed rituals past;  some Music and Dance

Heather's beautiful choreography  is a bit too complicated to explain here, but I find I can use Stefan's all purpose walk and sway steps that go like this:
3 walks then 2 sways ( play with the timing- the sways are  drawn out to match the phrasing ) and of course expressive arm motions as well. Or just let the music and memories wash over you

Light is Returning by Charlie Murphy

this is a simple kolo, walk walk walk  lift lift. so step forward on the right , step forward on the left, step forward on the right, then lift the left foot replace, lift the right foot as you replace the right foot to step forward you are starting the dance at the beginning. It sounds more complicated than it is, Or just move your body however it wants to move for this one, I will be doing it in a chair!
