Our community has a long tradition of dancing together.  Once upon a time it was several times a month.  But with time, change is inevitable. Now since Covid, and the departure of the Bears, we have been dancing once a month on the second Sunday of each month at Hillside.  What was once an evening activity has been moved to the afternoon to accommodate aging drivers and dancers.  We have also lost several instructors because of personal life changes.  Some of our rotating team travel a distance to lead the El Cerrito Sunday dance.  Some months our circles have been very small.  Our team discussed all of this and has proposed some changes for 2026. Starting Jan 2026 the regular 2nd Sunday El Cerrito Dance sessions will be held 6 times on odd months  (Jan, March, May, July, Sept, Nov ). We are also doing away with post dancing potluck dinners but if there is enough interest we can always plan to meet up at one of the many restaurants in the area instead. Please spread the word, invite your friends or family members who you think might enjoy all the wonderful gifts that circle dance provides for us. Just walking through the front door of the Hillside Church and gazing out at the beautiful view may brighten someone's day.  Our group is dedicated to the proposition that everyone can Dance! If you value our Sunday dances and want them to continue, we need folks to show up.  This will be a trial for 2026 that will be evaluated for future planning.

 We put out a basket to cover rent $10-$15 or whatever you can afford. Nobody is turned away for lack of funds.

By Transit - Take BART to the El Cerrito Del Norte station. Unfortunately, there are no buses to the church. It is a 20-minute uphill walk.  but you're only one mile from either El Cerrito Plaza BART or Del Norte BART and there are taxis, Lyft and Uber for that last mile. Often another dancer will be glad to get you back to a BART station after the dancing. And to pick you up there by pre-arraignment
